Wondering about the extent to which quantum mechanics ventures into our macroscopic world is an intriguing path to explore. Sean Carroll, for one, argues that there is just one quantum wave function of the Universe and that quantum physics applies throughout.
Given your interest in sociology and quantum physics, you might be familiar with the social scientist Alexander Wendt and in particular with his recent book "Quantum Mind and Social Science: Unifying Physical and Social ontology". Wendt constructs a new theory called quantum consciousness theory, in which he describes social behaviour through the lens of quantum mechanical behaviour.
In one of my articles "Making the European Union Whole Again", I apply his theory to the concepts of social coherence and non-dualism within the European Union. You're more than welcome to check it out, if you're interested!
