"But because of their advanced intelligence, genetically manipulating these animals comes with ethical questions."

And 'less intelligent beings' should not raise such ethical concern? Reading this sentence gives me the impression that only beings with advanced intelligence matter (whatever 'intelligence' might mean).

In any case, I think ethical concerns should be raised in the general context of genetic editing, regardless of the life form considered.
